Inventory & Catalog

Editing products

Your catalog changes constantly — prices move, cases get broken into singles, new items need reorder points. FoolProof is built to make those edits fast, whether you're touching one product or a hundred.

For owners and managers · About 4 minutes

The short version: edit a product's price, category, and tax class right from Stock; break a case into sellable singles; set a reorder point once and let FoolProof watch it; and search across your entire catalog, not just what's on screen.

1. Core product details

Open any product in Stock to update the fields that drive the register and your reports:

2. Case-to-single breakdown

Buy by the case, sell by the single. When you receive inventory as a case, FoolProof can break it down into the individual units you actually sell — so on-hand counts and the register both reflect what's really on the shelf, without a separate manual product for each pack size.

3. Reorder points

Set a reorder point on a product once, and FoolProof watches on-hand stock against it going forward — so you know what needs a purchase order before it runs out, instead of discovering it at the shelf.

4. Inline and bulk edits

  1. Inline — click a field right in the product list (price, category, reorder point) and update it in place, no separate edit screen.
  2. Bulk — select multiple products and apply the same change across all of them at once, useful for a vendor-wide price update or a category cleanup.

5. Finding a product fast

Catalog search runs on the server, not just against what's currently loaded on screen — so a search matches across your whole catalog, however large it is, not only the page you happen to be looking at.

Tip: Once your catalog is accurate, Reports and Insights turns those same product details into velocity, margin, and reorder signals.
